Be Sweet to Animals: Don't Buy Fur, Leather, or WoolWith holiday shopping and celebrations in full swing, PETA is asking people around the world to appeal to shoppers' conscience and sweet tooth with our "Be Sweet to Animals" tags or by telling ballet and operagoers that "fur is tutu cruel." Simply attach a tag to a candy cane (or another of your favorite vegan holiday treats) and voilà: You have a fun and irresistible treat to satisfy shoppers' appetites for compassion this holiday season.

Click on the links below to download and print your tags today. Pick your favorite tag or use them all!

The following are some ideas to help you get the most out of your treats:

  • Add some extra color to your tags by printing them using colored ink or on colored paper.
  • Pass them out in front of stores or shopping malls or on busy city streets.
  • Take a basket full of your compassionate treats to restaurants, stores, or other businesses in your area, and ask a representative if you can leave them on a counter for customers.
  • Add some flair by donning a costume while you hand out the treats! A simple holiday-themed hat will help keep you warm, and it's a fun way to attract more people to your message.
  • Attach the tags to all your holiday gifts. They're great as stocking stuffers too!

If evening outreach is more your thing, there's no better place to confront those wearing skins than at the opera or the ballet. Don a leotard and tutu, make some signs that say, "Fur Is Tutu Cruel," and pass out some of PETA's anti-fur leaflets an hour before show time. You'll really get the fur-wearers on their toes!

Don't forget to take pictures of your compassionate concoctions or your opera outreach to post to PETA's Flickr page, your MySpace or Facebook pages, and other social networking sites to help inspire others and show off your great work for animals!
